Free online document scanner
Turn paper into a PDF with the camera you already have. This scanner finds the page, crops and straightens it, cleans it up, and saves all your pages in one PDF. It runs in your browser, so there is no app to install and no account to create. If you are looking for a free alternative to scanner apps such as CamScanner, this covers the basics, and your pages never leave your device.
How to scan a document
- Open the Scan Document tab and press Scan with camera. Allow camera access.
- Put the page on a plain, darker surface. A white frame guides you, and a green outline shows when the page is found.
- Tap the round button for each page. You can take many pages in a row.
- Press Done. Pages are cropped and cleaned automatically.
- Check each page. Tap the pencil to adjust it, then press Create PDF and download.
What you can do with each page
- Auto crop and straighten: the four corners are found and the page is flattened.
- Drag the corners if the automatic crop is not exact, or choose Full page to keep everything.
- Rotate left or right, reorder pages with the arrows, or delete a page.
- Filters: Original, Enhance, Gray and B&W.
- Page size and quality: A4 or fit to the page, and High, Balanced or Small file.
Portrait and landscape lock
The first photo you take sets the angle, portrait or landscape. If you turn the phone after that, later photos are saved at the same angle so all pages match. You can also choose Portrait or Landscape yourself.
Tips for a good scan
- Use even light, and avoid a shadow from your hand or phone.
- Keep the whole page and all four corners in the frame.
- A light page on a darker surface is found most reliably.
- Use B&W for text, and Enhance for colour pages.
What it does not do
This tool saves pictures of your pages. It does not turn the text into searchable words (OCR), and it does not store your files online. Automatic corner detection can miss on busy backgrounds, in which case you drag the corners yourself.

Questions
Do I need an app to scan documents?
No. The scanner runs in your browser on a phone or computer. Press Scan with camera and allow camera access.
Does it find the corners of the page automatically?
Yes. When the page is lighter than the surface under it, a green outline appears and the page is cropped and straightened. You can drag the corners yourself if it is not exact.
Can I change the filter?
Yes. Choose Original, Enhance, Gray or B&W. B&W works well for text pages.
What does the portrait and landscape lock do?
The first photo sets the angle, or you can pick Portrait or Landscape. If you turn the phone, later photos are saved at the same angle.
Can I add photos from my gallery?
Yes. Press Add images. iPhone HEIC photos are accepted too.
Does it make the text searchable (OCR)?
No. It saves pictures of your pages in the PDF, so the text is not selectable or searchable.
Is my document uploaded?
No. Scanning, cropping and the PDF are all made in your browser, on your own device.
Is it free?
Yes, with no login and no daily limit.
